Prof. Mathijs Janssen Visits IPPT to Collaborate on FRIPRO Project
We are delighted to announce the visit of Prof Mathijs Janssen and his student Mehdi Belhaj to the Department of Mechanics of Materials, Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Polish Academy of Science (IPPT PAN) from 9th June to 19th June 2025.
Hosted by Dr Amrita Jain, the visit is part of the ongoing collaboration under the FRIPRO Project: Porous Electrode Charging. During their stay, Prof. Janseen and Mehdi worked closely with Dr. Jain and Ms Chandni Kumar to advance the scientific objectives of the project through joint research activities, discussions, and experimental work.
This visit marks an important step in strengthening international collaboration and accelerating progress toward the FRIPRO project goals. During his visit he also gave a talk in IPPT on Continuum and equivalent circuit modelling for porous electrode charging.
During his visit we have also organized a short course on Electrochemistry in collaboration with Prof Kondrat at ICHF PAN. Course was attended by nearly 25 people including PhD, postdocs and young researchers.
We were delighted to host Prof. Janseen and Mehdi to IPPT and we are looking forward to a fruitful and engaging collaboration.

Science promotional activities by PZMK group!
On 2nd April 2025, PZMK group had the pleasure of hosting an enthusiastic group of 2nd grade students from Human 2 Human school for an engaging educational session organized by Dr. Amrita Jain and Ms. Angelika Zaszczyńska (SPPiB).
The visit introduced the young learners to the exciting world of science and technology. Through interactive demonstrations and simple explanations, the children explored the concept of energy storage devices, getting a first glimpse into how batteries and capacitors work. A highlight of the day was the electrospinning demonstration, where students observed the creation of ultra-thin fibers—sparking many wide eyes and curious questions!
The session also included a kid-friendly lecture on nanomaterials, tailored to spark imagination while introducing fundamental scientific ideas in a fun and accessible way.
It was inspiring to see the students' excitement and curiosity. At IPPT PAN, we believe that introducing science at an early age is key to nurturing the next generation of innovators. We thank the school for this wonderful collaboration and look forward to more such educational outreach initiatives in the future.
Our sincere thanks to the Directors of IPPT for supporting this event!
